I loaded a piece of the (not cheap, mind you) Epson Velvet fine art paper. Unfortunately, when printing with this paper, you must have your paper settings on "roll" and use the single sheet feeder on back. If you don't, the printer will NOT let you select fine art paper by using the regular feed tray. (Which I found later/after a few tries to be a big annoyance.)

My first print came out marvelously. The print speed wasn't too slow and the color was exceptionally rich and bright compared to my old Epson RX that was replaced by this new 2880. I was pretty happy with the investment at that point.

I loaded my second piece of velvet fine art paper (which, with the back single-sheet feed tray, you must guide the paper down by hand until the printer grabs it and pulls it in further) and when I hit "print" I got an error saying there was a paper jam.

WELL.. it is now three days later and I STILL am getting "paper jam" error messages despite continuously ejecting and/or removing the paper by hand and carefully reloading it. I haven't been able to print anything since.

It does not seem to matter what I do (different piece of paper, rotate paper, blow on rollers to clear possible dust, turn printer off and on again, Epson manual, Epson support, etc etc) this printer WILL NOT load the paper without giving me an error.

I can't sit here and mess with a fussy printer all night trying to get one print out of it. I did not spend EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS on a printer that won't print on art paper let alone load it properly.

Epson got it all wrong with this machine. Way too many technical difficulties (not just the paper jamming but the way it is set up/paper profiles/charging ink on and on).
